Jane Wiedlin’s Excellent Adventure!

Jane Wiedlin was recently an unexpected choice in my 15 favourite female artists series at number twelve. Her inclusion in my favorites female artists list was more nostalgic than anything else. It’s not to say that her musical credentials as an artist are not worthy. She was amongst the thick of it when LA punk was born in the 1970’s and she helped propel the all-female new wave band, The Go-Go’s to fame. Beyond her days in The Go-Go’s, she had a modest solo career and famously played Joan Of Arc in the comedy movie Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure. That said, I decided a few days ago to write a short tribute to this wonderful artist. 

For Jane Wiedlin, it was a case of being in the right place at the right time, during those early days of the drug-fuelled chaos of the late 70’s Hollywood punk scene…
